A company is looking for a Facility Coding Outpatient Apprentice. Key Responsibilities Analyze, evaluate, and abstract data elements from patient electronic records Assign applicable ICD diagnoses and ICD & CPT procedure codes for inpatient and outpatient encounters Collaborate with the HIMS team on various assigned projects and tasks under supervision Required Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent specialized training in medical record keeping and coding principles Requires a coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., CPC, CPC-A, CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT) Basic knowledge of ICD/CPT coding principles and AHIMA coding competencies Familiarity with pharmacologic agents Ability to work effectively with common office software
