Authorization Specialist I
A company is looking for an Authorization Specialist I - Remote - Per Diem. Key Responsibilities Obtains and tracks authorizations/re-authorizations for patients according to insurance policies Initiates Peer to Peer communications with payers and collaborates with providers to secure Medical Necessity letters Monitors authorization work queues and troubleshoots authorization denials Required Qualifications High School Diploma; Associate's degree preferred Certification in CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or specialty coding preferred One to three years of experience in a healthcare environment with prior authorization experience Knowledge of HIPAA laws and managed care reimbursement requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems preferred
