Microbiology Research Technician

A company is looking for a Research Technician II in Microbiology. Key Responsibilities Perform routine scientific and medical research work in microbiology and related fields Assemble and operate laboratory equipment and record research data according to prescribed procedures Assist in data collection for project reports and supervise lower-grade laboratory personnel as needed Required Qualifications and Education Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience No experience required with a Bachelor's Degree; two years of laboratory experience with two years of college or four years of laboratory experience with a high school diploma/GED Knowledge of computational biology, molecular biology, and microbiology Experience with RNA-Seq, variant calling, functional annotation, and programming languages such as Python and R Familiarity with UNIX, Shell, and high-performance computing clusters preferred
