4 flaws of a busy calendar
You’ve tried the apps, time-blocking, and a dozen different routines and systems for getting your calendar under control. And you still struggle to dedicate time throughout the week to the most important stuff in your life. And so you might be wondering why The Reset Summit will help, when everything else has failed to move the needle for you. To show you, I want to tell you why productivity systems fail in the first place.

You’ve tried the apps.
You’ve tried time-blocking.
You’ve tried a dozen different routines and systems for getting your calendar under control.
And you still struggle to dedicate time throughout the week to the most important stuff in your life.
The distractions, pointless meetings, and random busywork still manage to slow your progress on the things that actually matter.
And so you might be wondering why The Reset Summit will help, when everything else has failed to move the needle for you…
To show you, I want to tell you why productivity systems fail in the first place.
There are four specific reasons, and I’ve designed The Reset Summit to solve for all of them.
Failure Point #1: Your system is too complex.
If your system is overly complex, you’re more likely to spend time tweaking it (or avoiding it) than…ya know…actually doing the work.
During the summit, you’ll discover my simple system for planning (and executing) your week that doesn’t involve complicated workflows or overly rigid frameworks.
Failure Point #2: Your system relies on too many tools (or on a specific, expensive tool).
Yeah, I love tools… Apps. Planners. Journals. Pens… You name it, I’ve bought it, tinkered with it, and blogged about it.
But each tool inside a task management system is a potential failure point. Another bucket where things can get forgotten or overlooked.
This is the opposite of how we’ll approach things during the Reset Summit. My goal is to help you clear your calendar, organize your priorities and then simplify your approach to planning.
By the end of the summit, you’ll have your own Clear Action Blueprint that easily adapts to new tools as your preferences and work style evolve.
Failure Point #3: Your system has too much friction.
If your projects and task lists are complicated or disorganized, then it will be difficult to stay on top of things.
Your system needs to be easy to use. That’s why an effective system will remove barriers instead of creating them.
Failure Point #4: Your system is too high level and not practical.
Are your daily tasks actually tasks… or are they big projects with multiple steps? If it’s the latter, you’ll be spending more time deciding what you should do and when instead of just doing.
As much as possible, break down projects into the smallest tasks possible, and create those tasks as concrete actions.
Are you ready to finally get more meaningful work done on a weekly basis?
I designed The Reset Summit to help you fix these pitfalls.
I’ll show you exactly how to win back your time, organize your life, and hit the goals you have for the second half of 2025.
This live-online coaching experience is for you if…
- You want to get an in-depth look at our best productivity workflows and more.
- You’ve read a productivity book or two and had trouble applying the rigid methodology to your day-to-day life.
- You’re not an organized person, but would like to have a few tricks up your sleeve to help you stay on top of your to-do list (at work and/or at home).
- Your to-do list overfloweth. You’ve got too much to do, not enough time to do it, and a general feeling of overwhelm when you look at your list of things to do.
- You have multiple areas of life to manage (work, home, personal side projects, etc.), and you’re not sure how to organize them.
- You find systems to be annoying, but know that you need a better way to stay on top of your tasks.
- You want to ensure the important things you need to do are not falling through the cracks.
- Most of your day is filled with busywork rather than meaningful work.
- You struggle to manage all the incoming tasks that come your way.
The summit kicks off on Monday, June 23, so now’s the time to join!
