Financial Specialist
A company is looking for a Financial Specialist responsible for managing the authorization process for patient appointments and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Initiate prior authorizations, verify insurance coverage, and follow up with insurance companies for approvals
Document patient and financial information accurately in registration systems and assist uninsured patients with payment options
Provide cost estimates to patients and maintain compliance with relevant regulations while achieving quality and productivity goals
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree with two years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with four years of relevant experience in a hospital setting
Two years of healthcare experience in a business capacity within a health plan, physician practice, surgery center, or hospital
Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and payer portals
Minimum of one year experience obtaining authorizations with a healthcare provider or insurance company
Strong understanding of medical terminology, including CPT and diagnosis codes
