Medical Record Review Specialist

A company is looking for a Medical Record Review Specialist who performs review functions to ensure accurate and complete disclosures of PHI and PI in compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities Review authorizations and requests for records to ensure completeness and validity Verify that medical records correlate with the authorization and are patient-specific Participate in QA meetings and communicate with relevant personnel regarding quality review issues Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education in Health Information preferred RHIT or CHDA certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification 2 years of experience in a professional office or healthcare setting preferred Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information preferred Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and learn new software applications
