We are based in New York City. This is a remote, consultant/contractor position. Best if candidates work in EST or within a 4-hour time difference.ResponsibilitiesFollowing our 3-step illustrations process:Concept: Summarize the text that the illustration will visualize and write a short description of what the illustration will be. Help the viewer understand the content.Sketch: Create a sketch that visualizes the concept and fits nicely on the layout.Finalization: Redraw sketch into the finalized illustration that accurately portrays the content and is maximally engaging.Collaborating closely with the design team.Creating illustrations that are inclusive and culturally appropriate for diverse audiences.Creating illustrations that can depict challenging topics such as migration, sexual exploitation, suicide prevention and mental health in a sensitive, dignified and positive tone.RequirementsAdvanced English with the ability to create and/or work with written briefs and concepts.Value-driven with a passion to make a positive impact on the world.Alignment with our values: Conscious, Helpful, Enthusiastic, Elegant, Reliable (CHEER).Collaborative personality with a team spirit.Portfolio showcasing a range of illustration styles and projects.Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and other illustration softwares.Comfortable working in a remote setting.
