Key Responsibilities Obtain and interpret detailed patient histories and physical data to determine necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Interact with patients seeking admission to treatment, providing empathy, education, and counseling Prescribe medication and write orders to stabilize patients during intake Required Qualifications, Training, and Education BS in Physician Assistant is required At least one year of experience preferred in chemical dependency, primary care, or hospital medicine PA-C certification from the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required Registered Physician Assistant (RPA) certification from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) is required Ability to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision
