Emergency Health Information Coder

A company is looking for a Health Information Coder III - Emergency - Remote. Key Responsibilities Assign ICD and CPT/HCPCS codes for patients receiving emergency department services Review and update pertinent abstracting data and perform data entry into electronic databases Generate appropriate APC level assignments through the encoder based on documentation and coding guidelines Required Qualifications At least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting with RHIT/RHIA/CCS or exam-eligible to test within 6 months of hire Proven skill with computers and computer systems Coding experience with inpatient/outpatient surgery and emergency room records Ability to work various hours and locations based on business needs Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
