A company is looking for an Insurance Verification Assistant to coordinate insurance verification and precertification processes for healthcare services. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the insurance verification and precertification process for outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions Verify benefits and obtain prior authorizations while contacting patients for additional demographic and insurance information Inform patients of co-pays due as part of the authorization process Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment PC knowledge and experience with multiple databases and software applications Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with healthcare professionals Experience with medical terminology and payer requirements preferred
