State Licensed Director of Coding

A company is looking for a Director of Coding. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the coding team, ensuring efficient and compliant coding practices Oversee coding operations, audits, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize reimbursement Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain data integrity through accurate coding practices Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) required; RHIA or RHIT preferred 7-10 years of progressive coding experience, with 3-5 years in a leadership role within an academic hospital or large healthcare system Strong knowledge of CMS guidelines, DRG, APC, and OPPS payment methodologies Familiarity with CDI processes and clinical reimbursement methodologies
